Attendance Guidelines
Excuse an Absence: When your student is going to be, or has been gone from school, please call the attendance line, (208) 854-4740, and leave a message excusing the absence or email Kayla Cooper at [email protected]
Automated Phone Calls: When your student has missed one or more periods of class during a day, an automated phone call/email will go out to parents. Please call (208) 854-4740 or reply to the email, to excuse the absence, or with information about why the student was marked absent.
Permits to Leave (PTL): If you need to pick up your student during school hours, call the main office, (208) 854-4730, to excuse the student from the classroom. This only can be arranged by a parent in person, by note, by phone, or by email to an office secretary who will send the PTL to the classroom before it is time to leave.
Medical Appointments: If your student has a medical appointment during school hours, please request a doctor’s appointment absence slip for your student to take to the school office upon returning later that day or the following day. Doctor absence slips also can be sent to the East office fax line, (208) 854-4731.
Pre-Arranged Absence Forms: If your student will be missing school longer than 3 days, have your student pick up a form from the office 3 or 4 days before the absence. This form must be filled out and signed by a parent! The student, will take it to their teachers for information about homework that will be assigned during the student’s absence. When the form is filled out, the student takes it back to the main office where it will be noted and a copy sent with the student.
